Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is an autonomous academic national institution of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Sciences & Technology. The Institute has its main campus in Koramangala, Bengaluru and CREST campus at Hosakote, Bengaluru. Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) invited applications from young, bright and highly motivated individuals for the position of Project Scientist to work for National Large Solar Telescope (NLST) Project. The appointment is purely temporary on contract basis and does not confer any privilege or benefit applicable to regular employees

Job Title: Project Scientist

Job Location: Bangalore

Total No of Posts: 2

Educational Qualification: M.Sc (Physics) with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University/Institute.

Experience: 2 years

Two years experience as Research Trainee or JRF or equivalent in a leading national laboratory or Institute in Physics, using optical and spectroscopic instrumentation having electronic data acquisition systems.

Required Skills: Excellent skills in computer programming for data archival and analysis on UNIX platform and fluency in MS Office.Peerscientist

Desirable Experience: Proficiency in using IDL/MATLAB/PYTHON Software for data handling and analysis and/or Zemax software for optical design and aptitude for research in Astrophysics.

Salary: Rs. 45,000/- (Consolidated)

Age Limit: 35 years
